Happy Mailman provides the ultimate doggy daycare experience in Austin! When your dog comes to daycare at Happy Mailman, you can be assured that your canine pal is having the most engaging and enjoyable day possible in a loving and supervised environment. We treat your dog like our own!

Happy Mailman offers daycare Monday through Saturday. Our daycare facilities feature large play areas for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Play groups are largely based on size, age, and personality of each of our dogs. Contact us today to set up your free playday and get a tour of our facility!

Daycare Guidelines

  • A free behavior evaluation is required of all dogs prior to setting up a regular daycare schedule. Please see the new customer link to the right for information about enrollment at Happy Mailman.

  • Please make sure you or your vet have provided us with updated vaccinations records. We require Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella (you may need to ask for this one specifically as it’s not a standard vaccination). You may bring the records in with you or have them faxed to (512) 301-2738.

  • Reservations are recommended for daycare to ensure we have room for your dog, and we’ll be happy to put you on a recurring schedule if easier. Please note that daycare may not be available around holidays or during inclement weather. If you have any doubts about availability, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at (512) 301-2359.

  • You are welcome to bring lunch for your dog – please be sure to clearly label the food. We do not feed daycare dogs unless specifically requested.

If something comes up and you are unable to pick up your dog for any reason, please do not fret! We will be happy to keep your dog overnight.

Boarding Guidelines

Happy Mailman offers daycare six days a week, Monday through Saturday. If you are in a bind and need us to take your pup off your hands on a Sunday, just give us a ring to check availability.

Please note we have nap time every day from 12pm-3pm, during which no drop offs or pick ups are available.

Hello, friends — my name is Caleb! A little about me: I grew up in many places across Texas, from small towns to the beautiful city of Austin! With all that movement and lack of consistency, a lifelong passion was born.

It started early. I caught and released small critters that wandered into the house and nursed cold, stunned reptiles back to health. My passion for animals only grew deeper as I got older. When I turned 16, I got my first job as a cleaner. While working, I began to notice how many stray cats and dogs were in the area, and it broke my heart…

From then on I started bringing extra cat and dog food in my beat-up Smart Car, leaving food for any stray animal I saw. I wanted to show each of them the dignity and respect they deserve. All the animals I helped, taught me something important about myself: the true value of compassion and patience.

A dog may not be able to speak to us, but they’re very good at reading intentions. My experience with stray pups showed me that the way to their hearts is through pure intentions, calmness, and love. These experiences are what I bring with me. I’m excited to bring that same compassion, patience, and gentle approach to every pet I meet at Happy Mailman. I look forward to building trust with your furry family members and helping them feel safe, loved, and cared for—one visit at a time.
